Why Your Joints Still Hurt

Joint Pain Makes Clowns Cry at Night

One demoralizing symptom of hypothyroidism is joint pain. It may persist, even after taking thyroid medications. What if you could eliminate the pain with one little pill available over the counter at grocery and health food stores?
Vitamin D could be the key to persistent joint pain.

A number of recent studies show a relationship between low vitamin D levels and ongoing pain. One such released by the American Society of Anesthesiologists, found that chronic pain sufferers with low vitamin D needed more pain medication for a longer period of time than those with normal levels. I have to give credit to an article by Sandy Robinson published at fightfatigue.org for pointing me to the above article. She has a lot of great info about why vitamin D deficiency is bad for your health and contributes to persistent pain in your joints and body. Read her article here.

Vitamin D is available as an over the counter supplement at the grocery store. It is relatively inexpensive, and comes in a range of deliveries; there are chewable, gummies, and tiny little gel caps.

I would caution against diagnosing yourself. Although blood tests at the doctor's office are not cheap, (at least mine were not) it is worth finding out if you have a deficiency.

Since being diagnosed with a severe vitamin D deficiency and being ordered to take a vitamin supplement several months ago, my joint pain and muscle aches improved a lot. Not completely cured, but noticeably better.
