Diatomaceous Earth and Weight Loss

Food grade diatomaceous earth is ground up fossils of diatoms, or tiny freshwater organisms. It has many industrial and cosmetic uses, from toothpaste to water filtration.

How can something that is essentially dirt aid in weight loss?
The answer is that diatomaceous earth, when ingested, kills organisms living in the digestive tract that contribute to weight gain. Namely, Candida and parasites.

Candida albicans is a yeast that lives in the digestive tract. When the proper amount is in the body, Candida helps with digestion and assimilation of nutrients. However, when there is too much in the body, this yeast can cause serious health problems. Weight gain, stomach bloating, and sugar cravings are symptoms of too much Candida.

Antibiotic medication, unhealthy diet, stress, and illness can cause an overgrowth of Candida. Most people have too much in their body.

Diatomaceous earth kills candida. The tiny ground up fossils shred the candida and kill it instantly. When the yeast is dead, cravings for junk food subside and also the body is in a better condition to lose weight as it is no longer fighting off the overgrowth. I personally experience reduced appetite and a lot less stomach bloating when I take diatomaceous earth every day.

Intestinal parasites are more common than many people realize. They can affect everyone, not just those in "third world" societies. Visit this link if you are feeling brave to view common parasites, their effects, and prevention.

According to the Natural Vitality Centre, symptoms of parasites include gas, bloating, irritable bowels, and weight gain.

Diatomaceous earth kills parasites in the same manner it kills Candida. The tiny, sharp edges shred the parasites on contact.

Be Careful What Kind You Buy
The only safe diatomaceous earth for human consumption is labeled food grade. Permaguard seems to be a reputable brand that sells this kind. Many people repackage the Permaguard and sell it in smaller quantities, since Permaguard sells 50 pound (22.73 kg) and that's too much for personal use. Do NOT consume the diatomaceous earth that is used in pool filters.

Visit Wolfcreek Ranch website for testimonials of diatomaceous earth.

  1. It tastes like a basement, but I love this stuff. It also kills bed bugs. My stepson had them, we told him about DE and his bug problem is no more. :-)
